Air conditioners don’t have much use during the coldest days of winter. If you have a window unit, you should remove it for maintenance and also to allow your heating system to work more efficiently. However, experts also advice that outdoor units should remain unwrapped outside:- Remove window air conditioners at the end of summer to keep the cold air out and the warm air in. Doing so will also allow homeowners to have their ACs checked before the cold season strikes.
- You don’t have to cover outdoor units with vinyl as this may trap moisture and cause damage. Instead, you can install an open cover to protect it from falling debris and other outdoor elements.
