Ways to Stay Safe and Cool During Summer

The warm weather, unfortunately, also increases the chances of an individual suffering from a heat-related illness. And with that, people are urged by the experts to take precautions during hot weather in order to help said reduce risks. The Oswego County Health Department offers some tips on how to do just that.

  • Take a cool shower or bath.
  • Drink plenty of water in order to stay hydrated.
  • Avoid alcoholic or caffeinated drinks as they can cause stomach cramps.
  • Stay indoors or in an air-conditioned place such as the public library, shopping malls and movie theaters.
