The extreme weather that we have been seeing in Northern America is making headlines but what does it mean for the UK? Some people are afraid that it will have some sort of impact across the Atlantic, and they have some reasons to be worried.

According to an article from itv.com, “The American use of the phrase ‘polar vortex’ referring to the extremely cold conditions over North America is slightly different to traditional definition above. It refers to features lower in the atmosphere – in the troposphere, where our weather happens.”
