Extreme weather and its manifestations affect the world in major ways – with changing weather patterns all over the globe taking its toll on populations, the environment, economic development, and even people’s health.
Cases of extremely high temperatures in Australia, flooding in the Middle East, tremendous blizzard in the United States, unprecedented cold spells in India, and terrible flooding in many other areas of the world, are just some examples of extreme weather.
According to climatologist Arlene Aaron – Morrison, “Changing weather patterns are playing a role in the melting of arctic ice. The Arctic ice is melting because of changes in climate. This melting is now adding to the global sea level.” She also stressed that the letting of the Arctic ice and the effects that it has are responsible for the occurrence of global changes.
