High School Forced to Have Early Dismissal Due to AC Problems

Posted 10 years ago

Enloe High School in Raleigh, North Carolina spent their 2nd of September 2013 in heavy sweat and discomfort after the classroom air conditioning units broke down. Students of over 2,000 spent their Tuesday morning sweltering in their own classrooms because of the problem that arose.

Because the teachers and students were suffering too much, a decision was passed out by midday to cancel classes and dismiss students. The decision was made after the staff deliberated and concluded that it was unsafe for personnel and students to be left inside non-air conditioned classrooms.

Immediately after the early dismissal of everyone in the school, AC repair experts began working to fix to the problem. Officials said they hope and expect that all AC repairs will be finished for the school to reopen Wednesday, 3rd of September 2013.
